The small & thriving township of Daylesford is located just 90 minutes drive north west of Melbourne in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range. Established originally as a pastoral & mining community in the 1840's alluvial gold was first discovered in 1851 on the site now covered by Lake Daylesford.

Daylesford has flourished as a tourist destination due in part to the abundance of approx. 65 natural mineral springs found in the Daylesford - Hepburn Springs region which accounts for more than 80% of Australia’s known mineral water springs; also the eclectic collection of cafes & restaurants to suit all pockets & tastes, the magnificent local gardens & an abundance of exceptional accommodation.

Located directly on Lake Daylesford balconies lakeside occupies an enviable front row position with stunning views. The weatherboard property was constructed in 1912 as a residence for the Simmonds family from Ballarat - in 1916 the property, then called Lohengrin became a guest house catering to guests from the city who came to enjoy the mineral springs & the tranquillity offered by this unique setting. Over the years rooms have been added and renovations undertaken & the house has had various guises - a teashop (mid 1950's), a barbers (1970's) and since late 1990 a bed & breakfast.

The spacious, en suite Studios have panoramic views over Lake Daylesford to Italian Hill & Cornish Hill. Incorporating muted colours to enhance the outside views, the Studios are modern in design & decor with stylish & comfortable furnishings. We serve a sumptuous breakfast daily direct to your Studio which can be enjoyed inside or on the private balcony.

After an extensive renovation we're proud to once again welcome guests from all over the world. We hope to welcome you on your next visit to Daylesford in this beautiful, historic part of Victoria.
